Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) has announced two new logistics and warehousing solutions: the Honeywell Intelligrated Momentum Core software platform and the IntelliSort® Irregulars Sorter, designed to enhance automation capabilities, improve operational visibility, and reduce system complexity and downtime across distribution centers.

The Momentum Core software platform unifies warehouse execution systems (WES), warehouse control systems (WCS), and machine control into a single integrated architecture, enabling centralized monitoring, configuration, and reporting.
Built on the Ignition platform from Inductive Automation, the system provides SCADA capabilities and supports scalable industrial automation deployment.
Key capabilities include:
Simplified architecture: A standardized code base with an end-user configurable layer reduces customization requirements
Unified operations: Provides a single view for monitoring, control, and reporting across warehouse operations
Flexible system integration: Enables workflow and reporting changes without replatforming or heavy engineering effort
According to Chad Briggs, President of Honeywell Intelligrated, the platform allows customers to “start with what they need today and scale seamlessly as operational demands evolve.”
Honeywell also introduced the IntelliSort Irregulars Sorter, designed to address inefficiencies in handling non-conventional parcels such as oversized, heavy, or unstable packages.
Key features include:
Throughput capacity: Processes approximately 3,000 to 5,000 irregular parcels per hour
High variability handling: Supports a wide range of package sizes, shapes, and weights
Modular integration: Easily integrates into existing sortation infrastructure
Operational efficiency: Reduces manual handling, mis-sorts, and downtime risks
The system targets e-commerce operators, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and postal and parcel networks, where irregular packages often create bottlenecks and operational inefficiencies.
The launch reflects broader industry trends toward flexible, modular, and software-defined warehouse automation systems. As supply chains become more complex and demand fluctuates, logistics operators increasingly require systems that can adapt quickly without extensive redevelopment.
Key implications include:
Greater convergence of software and machine control systems
Increased adoption of configurable, low-code automation platforms
Expansion of automation into irregular and previously manual handling processes
Improved scalability and resilience in warehouse operations
