Time:2026-04-14 Browse: 1

On March 3 and March 5, HIMA Group (Brand: HIMA / Country of Origin: Germany), a global leader in safety automation solutions for the process and railway industries, officially inaugurated new entities in Lima, Peru and Bogotá, Colombia, further expanding its footprint in Latin America. The opening ceremonies brought together numerous customers and partners from the oil & gas, chemical, and petrochemical industries for high-level exchange meetings and technical presentations. HIMA showcased the advantages of digitalization in process safety, emphasized the increasing importance of operational technology (OT) security in an increasingly connected industrial environment, and reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the region.

Celebrating the Launch of HIMA Entities in Peru and Colombia

Latin America, with its abundant raw materials, expanding industrial base, and continuous investment in energy and process infrastructure, presents significant growth opportunities for new and expansion projects. HIMA, supported by dedicated local teams, is ready to assist clients in delivering and implementing best-in-class safety solutions, fully leveraging the region’s potential.

Since 1995, HIMA has been actively engaged in the region through partnerships, establishing a substantial installed base of safety systems. Following the establishment of a legal entity in Argentina in 2021, and now new entities in Colombia and Peru in 2025, these high-level exchanges represent another key milestone in strengthening HIMA’s regional influence.

Local Presence and Comprehensive Support

HIMA’s local safety experts can now provide sales, engineering, project management, and full after-sales services, including long-term maintenance contracts, in key markets, supported by HIMA’s global organization. In areas without direct local presence, HIMA leverages a network of 14 trusted partners across Latin America, all certified under the HIMA Partner Program, ensuring consistent expertise, quality, and service across the region.

Jörg de la Motte, CEO of HIMA Group, commented:
"This milestone represents a critical step in our Latin America expansion strategy. It further reinforces our ambition to build long-term partnerships, aiming to create sustainable value for our clients through digital functional safety solutions."

Strategic Role of New Offices

The Bogotá office will serve as a regional hub for market development and project management. The Lima office will focus on clients in Peru and surrounding countries, providing local coordination for engineering, commissioning, and services.

Brenda Moreno, Director for Latin America, stated:
"With the new entities in Colombia and Peru, complemented by our existing presence in Argentina, we are strengthening our footprint in Latin America and enhancing our capability to support clients with strong local engineering and service expertise. Our goal is clear: deliver consistently high-quality services, foster trusted partnerships, and demonstrate our long-term commitment to improving operational safety and reliability across the region."
