Schneider Electric Launches Schneider Charge Level 2 EV Charger with Dynamic Load Management in Cana

Schneider Electric has launched Schneider Charge, a Level 2 residential electric vehicle (EV) charger in Canada designed to make home EV charging more accessible, flexible and intelligent.

The new home charging solution features SmartAmp dynamic load management, which automatically adjusts the EV charging output according to the available electrical capacity of a home. The technology is designed to help homeowners install Level 2 EV charging without necessarily requiring an electrical panel or utility service upgrade.

According to Schneider Electric, avoiding a traditional electrical service upgrade could help some homeowners save up to CAD 9,000 or more, depending on their location and the scope of the required electrical work.

SmartAmp Dynamic Load Management

One of the key features of Schneider Charge is its SmartAmp dynamic load management capability.

Traditional Level 2 EV charger installations can require an assessment of a home's electrical capacity. If the existing electrical panel or service does not have sufficient capacity, homeowners may need to upgrade their electrical infrastructure before installing a higher-power EV charger.

Dynamic load management provides an alternative approach by continuously monitoring available electrical capacity and adjusting the charger's output accordingly.
